Sea glass

11. Sea glass

Rare treasure in my hand.
Salt-frosted, stone-etched, wave-dulled, thrown to shore.
Ten green bottles ground back into sand.

Hi Sandra. Yes. Much rarer these days. Thanks.

Lovely. "Wave-dulled" is particularly inspired.

I collect sea glass too! it is always thrilling to find a few more pieces - I am going to write your words and put them with my collection x

Hi Rosie. Thanks. That's good to hear! Hope you find pieces at a faster rate than me and some unusual colours too. Happy searching.

I do hope you're planning to publish all of these wonderful gems (your words, not the glass) as a book some day. I truly envy your ability to write.

Hi Sharmon. Well, I'm pleased you've been enjoying them. I had no other plans except to gather them into a little pocket book as I do with each river, but you never know. Don't tell anyone, but maybe you could try penning a couple of your own ...?

Love this poem Annie! Love the photo too. Salt frosted! yes, green bottle wearing back into sand. You have captured such evolution and awareness in only a few words. Eloquent!

Hi Maggie. Thanks so much. I had fun with this one. It kind of brewed on the back of the stove for a few days first!
