Lavender blur

10. Lavender blur

The breeze surges with lavender blur,
butterfly flitting and teasel sway,
unable to stop once it all started.

While the vegetables on the allotment are catching up on sun, the herbs and flowers seem to be busy filling up all the gaps. Everything seemed to be in flow today on a breeze that came in like surging waves. I think it made the insects delirious.

Sweet peas, lavender, blueberries, raspberries, shallots, red onions, mange tout peas, sugar snap peas, radishes, courgettes. Today's harvest. Happy.

Butterflies eh? Up here just now they're being hit by hailstones and the plants drifting off in floods or even landslides!!

Hi Gordon. Well, this was today and very beautiful it was. The rest of the week was not at all like this! Are you not tempted to be heading off to Spain this time of year to escape such Northern deluges?

Annie - I like the tempo here - possibly just like your wind and the delirious insects.

So this is #10 of your River of Stones-- I have been reading a book on Zen today - about living in the moment and observing the small things.. wonderful.. and lavender is my very favorite.

Hi Barb. Thanks. The tempo was definitely dictated by the breeze yesterday. Plants, creatures, scents, me!

Hi Donna. Yes. No. 10. It's become a habit over the years that seems to help my work, noticing little things each day. The lavender is just stunning this year. Bee heaven, of course.

What a wonderful harvest! Can't help thinking about the intoxicated bees!

Hi Mary Ann. A lovely harvest. The bees were spoilt for choice as to where to head next, I think!
